Hello, dear TEA-mates, here’s what you need to know today.

1. 🤝 Decentralized AI Challenges Big Tech’s Monopoly

A CoinDesk op-ed argues that decentralized AI networks built on open-source models and blockchain infrastructure are emerging as an alternative to Big Tech’s highly concentrated, $12 trillion centralized AI ecosystem. The author highlights the valuation gap between centralized AI and roughly $12 billion of decentralized AI projects, suggesting that as privacy, proof-of-control, and confidential computation become strategic priorities, demand for decentralized solutions will grow. By harnessing spare compute from distributed hardware and using cryptography to guarantee data control, decentralized AI aims to unlock previously inaccessible corporate data and enable a more competitive “Internet of AI agents” that is less dependent on hyperscale cloud providers. 🫖 TEA For Thought: After a wave of viral “doomed economy” takes, it feels more obvious than ever that decentralized AI will have a real market; where there is monopoly and oppression in AI, there will be opposition in the form of deAI. My only concern is the development pace of deAI—but perhaps as centralized AI advances, it will also accelerate how quickly humans can build decentralized AI.

2. 🤖 AWS Strands Labs Bets on Autonomous Robotics

The AI Economy reports that Amazon Web Services has launched Strands Labs, a new GitHub organization that gives developers a sandbox to experiment with autonomous AI across three projects: robots, robot simulation, and AI functions. Built on the open-source Strands Agents SDK—already downloaded more than 14 million times—Strands Labs focuses on frontier “agentic” experiences rather than production apps, letting developers connect AI agents to physical robots, realistic simulations, and natural-language–defined Python functions. AWS says the goal is to explore how agentic software changes robotics and AI workflows in the open, with the most successful experiments potentially rolling back into the core Strands SDK over time. (Read More)

🫖 TEA For Thought: The next wave of AI hype is clearly shifting toward hardware and robotics—and Amazon is laying down the infrastructure runway for it.

3. 📱 Samsung Turns Galaxy Into a Multi-Agent AI Hub

Samsung is expanding Galaxy AI into a multi-agent ecosystem that operates at the system level across Galaxy devices, aiming to reduce friction by letting AI orchestrate tasks instead of users jumping between individual apps. As part of this push, Samsung is integrating Perplexity as a deeply embedded AI agent on upcoming Galaxy devices, accessible via “Hey Plex” or a long-press of the side button and wired into core apps like Notes, Clock, Gallery, Reminders, and Calendar. The company plans to share more details at its February 25 Galaxy Unpacked event, where the next Galaxy S lineup will debut with Galaxy AI enabled from first use. (Read More)

🫖 TEA For Thought: Samsung is reshaping how people interact with their phones using AI—turning the phone itself into one giant app, where users delegate tasks and information retrieval to agents instead of tapping through individual apps.

4. 🌀 Rethinking AI Doom: From Market Shock to Abundance

The Kobeissi Letter argues that the recent $800 billion market selloff reflects an overhyped “AI doomsday” narrative, even as Anthropic’s Claude triggers sharp repricing in incumbents like IBM, Adobe, and CrowdStrike when it releases powerful new automation tools. The piece frames these “Anthropic takedowns” as commoditization of cognition rather than systemic collapse, contending that lower cognitive costs in sectors that make up most of US GDP can act like an “invisible tax cut” by reducing service prices and boosting real purchasing power. It introduces the idea of “Abundance GDP,” where AI-driven productivity gains chiefly show up as cheaper essential services and expanded entrepreneurship, and suggests that if institutions adapt, AI-driven abundance could ease geopolitical tensions by reducing resource scarcity and making economic growth less zero-sum. (Read More)

🫖 TEA For Thought: We may be overpricing AI doom and underpricing AI-driven abundance; Anthropic’s shocks look scary now, but they could be the opening act of a massive productivity boom and a new wave of small-business-led opportunity.

5. 💸 Binance Faces Scrutiny Over Funds Linked to Sanctioned Iran Entities

The Wall Street Journal reports that, weeks after President Trump pardoned Binance founder Changpeng Zhao in October, Binance executives halted an internal probe into about $1 billion that had flowed through the exchange to entities tied to Iran-backed militant groups. Documents and people familiar with the matter say a trading account connected to a close Binance business partner was identified as a key conduit, and some staff who raised sanctions concerns were later suspended, while Binance denies shutting down the investigation or punishing whistleblowers. The episode adds to questions about the exchange’s compliance controls and its handling of activity involving sanctioned jurisdictions. (Read More)

🫖 TEA For Thought: CZ is a willing proxy aka running dog for the CCP’s darker activities—reminding us that Iran’s geopolitical posture is tightly intertwined with CCP’s influence.

Prompt Tip of the Day: the “one more question” prompt

"What's the single smartest and most radically innovative addition you could make to this project at this point?"

When you think you're finished with your development plan for your agent, try this prompt with a few different frontier models. You might be amazed what they come up with. If you've already started development and have a fleshed out project already, replace the word "plan" with "project."
